I made homemade Rice Krispy treats after school today!
They're absolutely delicious~
Got the pan with wax paper (no need to grease it), marshmallows, butter, and Rice Krispy cereal ready!
Mmm~
I honestly wish I had added more marshmallows though. But I have some left over along with the cereal so I can just use that to make more next week!
And the finished product~
While I was mixing in the cereal I also added a few more marshmallows.
Anyways, it's a yummy treat and super easy to make. You just need....
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 5 cups of mini marshmallows
- 5 cups of Rice Krispy cereal
(You can always increase the amount if you want. All depends on you!)
Keep your stove on low heat and melt the butter in a large pot. Once that's melted add in the marshmallows and continue to stir it. It'll soon begin to melt and mix with the butter, remember to continue to stir it around.
Then when that's all melted take the pot off the heat source and quickly pour in the cereal and mix it around until everything is covered and you're satisfied with the outcome. After mixing everything together, put it into your pan and flatten it down and you're finished!
It tastes sooo good to eat it right when it's finished. I never want to wait the 1-2 hours people say to wait to let the treats cool.
People also make this with Fruit Pebbles so if you're a fan of that you should try it! I need to use that in the future, I'm sure it's tasty.
Side note: Is it just me or are there other people who has always wanted to spell "marshmallows" as "marshmellows" because of how it's pronounced?
